BARRET IRWIN

Barret is a highly accomplished pickleball player, winning a singles silver medal in the Australian Open Pickleball Championships, and a bronze in Men's Doubles at the NSW Champs in 2025.
 

As a former software educator for Apple, Barret has transferred his teaching expertise to pickleball and is in high demand as a private and group coach. Barret quickly and precisely observes his clients' needs and articulates points with empathy and clarity.

He is obsessed with pickleball and brimming with insight to help every player continuously improve and get more from the game.

Senior Coach

PAT JANSSON

Pat is a former tennis professional with a wealth of experience. He is a highly competitive pickleball player and much-loved, certified coach.

Originally from Finland, Pat coached tennis in Europe for many years and has made a swift and natural transition to pickleball. He is a master communicator, with unique skills to unlock technical and psychological challenges for players at any level of competency.

Pat is dedicated to advancing wellbeing, is a published author and holds a PhD with specialisation in cancer research.​

Junior Coach

JACOBINA JANSSON

Jaco is an elite tennis player and coach, bringing her passion and youthful energy to the Punch Pickleball team.

Her powerful drives and angles make her formidable on the small court. As a coach of top talent at Meriden school, Jaco loves to help emerging players reach their potential quickly.

Like her Dad, Patric, she's extremely patient and a fantastic communicator. She is also a gun creative - photographer, videographer and editor.

Junior Coach

JASON HALIM

An exceptionally talented athlete, Jason trained at Australia's leading tennis academy and has competed at a high level since he was a young boy.

Jason has been quick to adapt his skills to pickleball and is uniquely positioned to give tennis players and newcomers a rapid grounding in this insanely fun, new racket sport!

Jason is gentle and approachable and has a bright future as a coach. He is studying business and finance at UNSW, Sydney. 

Founder and Coach, USA

NASS IRWIN

Nass is an elite-level pickleball player in his home country of Australia, and has been coaching since 2022. He won the Men's Singles silver medal in the Sydney champs in 2023. Later that year he was drafted into the country's inaugural NPL league, playing No1. singles for his team, reaching the finals of Australia's first semi-pro competition.

Nass is a also a talented teacher whose clients value his ability to quickly pinpoint and work with their strengths and challenges on the court. Nass brings highly actionable techniques and strategies to every session, helping clients immediately elevate their game.
